Blends Donut Café Holds Grand Opening at Schilling Farms

Boyle Investment Company announced today that Blends Donut Café has opened at Schilling Farms in Collierville. The 1,200-square-foot specialty coffee and donut shop is located at the northeast corner of Schilling Blvd. and Winchester on the first floor of Boyle’s upscale multi-family community, The Carrington at Schilling Farms.

Blends Donut Café brings the Collierville community and the Memphis metro area their first experience with the new culinary trend of small cake-style donuts creatively topped and decorated to replicate popular desserts and flavor combinations. The café pairs the donuts with a variety of locally roasted coffee and espresso blends that are served hot and chilled over ice. Other breakfast options include 4 bagel flavors with 6 different toppings to choose from, as well as all natural organic oatmeal with a variety of toppings. The curated donut flavors for March include Strawberry Cheesecake, White Chocolate Raspberry and Cinnamon Roll. Blends offers a refreshing guest experience with indoor and outdoor seating in a unique space that borrows its design cues from west-coast coffee houses. In addition to the storefront at The Carrington apartment community, the café provides catering and event services.

The master-planned 443-acre Schilling Farms community was started by Boyle in 1998 and incorporates all of the elements of small-town life, including office buildings, a variety of residential neighborhoods, retail, restaurants, doctors’ offices, a daycare center, YMCA, banks, D1 Sports, and a church.   Boyle developed The Carrington at Schilling Farms where Blends is located in 2014 and just recently completed the second phase, Carrington West, which opened in the fall of 2016.  The Ulcynskis are excited about the location of Blends since it is situated in the heart of the Schilling Farms community in the corner retail space at The Carrington.

“When we were reviewing various options in Collierville for the location of Blends, there was just something about the quaintness of Schilling Farms and The Carrington apartments. We love the look and feel of the brick buildings and the outdoor patio, and we thought it matched the look and feel we were aiming to create with Blends,” said Amanda Ulczynski.  “The styling for the interior of Blends was inspired by a shop my husband and I found in Newport Beach, California.  We love the fact that there are so many residential neighborhoods at Schilling Farms ranging from apartments to townhomes to single family and the fact that the community is so walkable.  We envision the workers at the various office buildings and the neighbors walking over to Blends during their breaks and before work.”

The hours of operation are from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays.  The café has hired 11 employees and is still hiring additional part-time workers.
