Boyle Begins Work On Four New Retail Centers

This 370,000-square-foot power center in suburban Dallas exemplifies Boyle’s experience in retail development. The center, developed by Boyle, is anchored by prominent, national tenants, including Borders Books & Music, Stein Mart, and HomePlace

Leasing activity in the Memphis retail market is brisk, and Boyle is actively involved in most of the sectors, according to Steve Bowie, Boyle vice president of retail development.

Boyle is in the process of finalizing leasing efforts at each of four retail developments where site work already has begun. “We anticipate that construction could begin on one or more of these centers by mid-1996,” says Bowie.

Two conventional community centers now underway include Village Commons at Johnson Road, a 100,000-square-foot retail center in Germantown just east of Boyle’s Village Shops of Forest Hill development, and Cordova Town Center, a 220,000-square-foot retail development on Germantown Parkway at Macon Road.

Countrywood Crossings, at I-40 and Germantown Parkway, will be power center featuring national credit, big box retail tenants which are consistent with the developments surrounding the nearby Wolfchase Galleria Mall. Fronting I-40, the Crossing will consist of approximately 180,000 square feet of highly visible retail space plus a prominent hotel site.

River Village Center, a convenience-oriented retail/service center at Wolf River Parkway and Germantown Road, will include approximately 45,000 square feet of commercial space. Possibly anchored by a drug store, the center also will include a Boatman’s Bank and a 125-room Marriott Courtyard Hotel.

In addition to these new retail developments, Boyle is developing the last remaining out-parcel in its 360,000-square-foot Village Shops of Forest Hill project for a Trust One Bank branch.

These high-profile, strategically-located retail developments are indicative of the leading edge properties for which Boyle is so well known.
