Boyle Plans New Cool Springs Building
– The City Paper –
Boyle Investment Co. will begin construction on 3000 Meridian, a Class-A, 102,500-square-foot office building, in August 2007, the company announced Thursday.
3000 Meridian is part of Meridian Cool Springs, Boyle’s and partner Northwestern Mutual’s new mixed-use development in Franklin.
The planned building will be the new headquarters for Podiatry Insurance Company of America (PICA), with completions set for September 2008.
The building will include four stories and feature a one-story, underground parking garage.
Approximately 50,000 square feet of the headquarters will be occupied by PICA, while 25,000 square feet has been committed to by an undisclosed third-party tenant.
About 25,000 square feet are still available for lease.
PICA was originally incorporated in Tennessee in 1980 and has grown steadily over the years. It serves as the only nationwide provider of medical malpractice for the podiatric profession.
“When we were looking for a new headquarters, Cool Springs – and more specifically Meridian Cool Springs – really fit the bill,” said Jerry Brandt, DPM, CEO and President of The PICA Group. “We are a mid-sized company that still maintains a family feel and the Cool Springs location has a lot of exciting things to offer our employees.”
Doug Webb, PICA’s CFO and project leader, along with Facilities Manager J.C. Blakely, will be working with the team from Boyle.
Thomas McDaniel represented the Meridian Cool Springs development on behalf of Boyle, and PICA was represented by Buck Forcum and David Koziak of Newmark Knight Frank in Nashville.
Other team members for the development include Greg Hayden of Hayden Architects, Reed Dennis of Mid-America Construction, Littlejohn Engineering and Civil Constructors.
Boyle has expanded its office and retail presence in the Cool Springs area with Meridian Cool Springs, a 40-acre mixed-use project anchored by Community Health Systems’ Headquarters.
