Boyle Sr. To Be Honored Posthumously
– The Daily News –
The Memphis Area Association of Realtors (MAAR) Commercial Council will honor J. Bayard Boyle Sr. April 12 for his contributions to the Memphis community. Boyle, who was a real estate developer in the Memphis area for 60 years, will receive the Legacy Award.
The Legacy Award is presented posthumously to a commercial real estate practitioner who has had tremendous influence on the local industry.
The award will be presented as part of the sixth annual Pinnacle Awards ceremony at the Holiday Inn-University of Memphis, 3700 Central Ave.
Paul Boyle, vice president of Boyle Investment Co. and son of current chairman J. Bayard Boyle Jr., along with Henry Morgan Jr. and Bayard Morgan, sons of Boyle president Henry W. Morgan Sr., will accept the award in their grandfather’s honor.
“Through his visionary planning and forethought, J. Bayard Boyle Sr. helped transform the commercial and residential landscape of Memphis over his 60-year career,” said Bayard Snowden, MAAR Commercial Council president. “While many in Shelby County may take for granted where they live, work and shop, all three are undoubtedly the legacy of Boyle’s dedication to creating quality developments in Memphis.”
J. Bayard Boyle Sr. and his two brothers founded Boyle Investment Co. in 1933, starting the business by buying land and developing residential subdivisions and shopping centers.
