Physicians Postgraduate Press is leaving Lenox Park for a 25,000-square-foot office space at 850 Ridge Lake Boulevard in Ridgeway Center.

The company, which owns and publishes The Primary Care Companion to The Journal of Clinical Psychiatry and The Journal of Clinical Psychiatry Online, is scheduled to leave its current space in Lenox Building A in August.

Judy Beach, director of operations for Physicians Postgraduate Press, says the company has outgrown its current space, which is about 13,000 square feet.

The company has been in Lenox Park since 2000.

"We’re taking the entire third floor at 850 Ridge Lake," Beach says. "We signed the real estate deal a while back but we just closed on the purchase of the assets in the space."

The floor was occupied by an operating unit of Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc.

Physicians Postgraduate Press purchased a significant portion of the existing fixtures in the space. The company currently employs 58 people in Memphis. Beach says new business ventures have accounted for its expansion.

"We’ve added space at least twice since we’ve been here," says Beach, a 25-year veteran with the medical publishing company. "In addition to the peer-reviewed journals, we also specialize in continuing medical education and our Medfair.com site."

The publishing company considered building its own facility last year, she says, but land costs and increased construction costs swayed them toward leasing at Ridgeway Center.

Physicians Postgraduate Press worked directly with Boyle Investment Co. on the lease.

Boyle officials confirmed the lease, but deferred all comments to the tenant.

Other tenants in Boyle Investment Co.’s 850 Ridge Lake building include SunTrust Capital Markets and McVean Trading Co.
