Schilling Office Building to Begin

– The Collierville Herald –

The first office building that visitors to Schilling Farms will see after entering the gates to the 443-acre development will break ground today (Thursday).

Construction on the 62,000-square-foot Schilling Farms Business Center will start on the southeast corner of Schilling Boulevard at Crescent Drive near the newly opened Schilling Farms YMCA.

"We are excited because things are beginning to take shape at Schilling Farms," said Gary Thompson, director of planning for Boyle, which is the developer.

The signature office building greeting people entering Schilling Farms will be a one-story garden style office, according to Cary Whitehead of Boyle.

"This is an important building since it is in such a prominent location," said Whitehead. "We don’t have a tenant signed up yet, but typically you don’t have the tenant or tenants until after construction begins."

He added that the office can be suited to either one large tenant or multiple tenants.

Construction of the Schilling Farms Business Center is expected to be completed by the second quarter of next year, according to Whitehead.

The ground-breaking is another step toward the completion of the sprawling master-planned community, which will offer 80 acres of office space, 70 acres of distribution space, and 900 homes as well as shops, pars, the Schilling Farms Middle School, apartments, a church, and a day care center.
